Role Purpose
To promote, manage, and deliver professional, commercially viable, and high-quality primary health clinic services in full compliance with South African Nursing Council (SANC) regulations, national health standards, and Clicks Group operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care & Primary Healthcare Services
- Primary Care: Deliver Primary Health Care (PHC) services, including treatment of minor ailments, wound care, and rendering a professional phlebotomy service.
- Child & Maternal Health: Conduct “Well Baby” clinics—monitoring infant development, growth tracking, and administering childhood immunisations.
- Reproductive & Adult Care: Provide comprehensive reproductive health services, family planning advice, and adult health immunisations.
2. Screening, Counselling & Health Promotions
- Diagnostic Screenings: Administer lifestyle management screening tests (glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure) and health assessments.
- Patient Counselling: Provide structured guidance on health information and weight management, referring patients to Pharmacists or specialists when necessary.
- Health Campaigns: Plan and execute community “Health Days”, clinic promotions, and build professional healthcare referral networks.
3. Clinic Administration, Stock & Financial Management
- Stock & Cold Chain: Manage, monitor, and order clinic stock and medical supplies while preventing shrinkage and maintaining cold-chain integrity.
- Safety & Waste: Manage medical waste protocols, enforce safety precautions, and handle adverse events/emergencies effectively.
- Financial Oversight: Maintain patient billing controls, compile stock and financial management reports, and manage locum arrangements for shift coverage.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Registered Professional Nurse holding a 3-year Diploma or 4-year Degree in Nursing.
- SANC Registration: Current, active registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and valid professional indemnity cover.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of practical nursing experience across broad disciplines—preferably Primary Health Care (PHC), Community Health, and Midwifery.
- Software Skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Unisolv and Allegra clinic software systems is highly preferred.
- Core Competencies: Commercial awareness, meticulous record-keeping, adherence to health regulations, strong time management, and patient confidentiality.
