Job Description
The Floor Supervisor ensures that the store floor is fully operational, clean, and stocked according to company policies. You are responsible for leading the Merchandising team, ensuring they follow customer service procedures, and maintaining the physical upkeep of all merchandise displays.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Ensure Merchandisers adhere to customer policies and receive proper service training.
- Merchandising Standards: Maintain basic merchandising standards and uphold company policy and procedure standards.
- Stock Management: Restock merchandise based on business requirements and regulate stock received from suppliers or held in the storeroom.
- Inventory Control: Conduct accurate stock counts and understand the rate of sale to manage over or under-stocking.
- Pricing Accuracy: Ensure daily price update labels are actioned and that all pricing is correct at all times.
- Display Management: Oversee the setup and timeous removal of promotional displays and signage.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly service and ensure all customer stock queries are addressed effectively.
- Operations: Ensure proper floor coverage of staff and manage daily physical upkeep of the store.
Work Etiquette and Competencies
- Instructional Leadership: Ability to give and follow through with instructions while leading by example.
- Technical Skill: Experience working with planograms and proficiency in MS Office.
- Effective Communication: Strong command of English and the ability to engage effectively with customers, staff, and management.
- Feedback Loop: Provide constant feedback to the Store Manager regarding floor operations.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit for walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, and moving objects.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years related work experience.
- Experience (Advantageous): Previous supervisor experience is a plus.
- Citizenship: South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
- Availability: Willing and able to work retail hours.
