The Role: The Architect of Accuracy
In a massive retail group like Clicks, data is everything. As a Data Capturer, you are the custodian of the Master Files. If a price is captured incorrectly here, it affects hundreds of stores and thousands of customers. You will work closely with suppliers to verify costs and use systems like Zenoti to ensure the “recipes” (for treatments or product bundles) are costed correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Product & Supplier Management: Capture and maintain high volumes of supplier data. You must verify product availability across all stores before they are officially “listed” in the system.
- Pricing & VAT Control: Implement price changes, validate VAT, and ensure discounts are reflected accurately across master files.
- System Maintenance: Maintain the Zenoti system, ensuring barcodes, pricing, and product descriptions are 100% accurate.
- Store Support: You are the “Help Desk” for stores. If a price doesn’t reflect correctly at the till in a specific branch, you investigate and fix the system discrepancy.
- Costing & Analysis: Conduct competitor price analysis and adjust “recipe” costing (used in Clicks clinics or salons) whenever a raw product cost changes.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A suitable tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma).
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in data capturing, data administration, or data management.
- Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel proficiency is mandatory. You must be comfortable with complex formulas, data validation, and reporting.
- Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of pricing, costing, and VAT is essential.
Key Competencies
- Analytical Thinking: The ability to spot a “wrong” number in a sea of data.
- Detail-Oriented: A “Quality Control” mindset where accuracy is the top priority.
- Problem-Solving: Investigating why systems and stores aren’t aligning and providing a fix.
- Collaboration: Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize product ranges.

- Process Improvement: Mentioning a time they found an error that saved the company money or improved a data entry process will be highly regarded.
