Florida Road is one of Durban’s busiest social, dining, and nightlife strips. Joining a brand-new Pedros store here means you will be operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment from the moment the doors open. As the frontline face of the store, your speed, accuracy, and energy will directly dictate how fast customer queues move and how quickly the branch builds a loyal local customer base.


Key Responsibilities

1. Front-Counter Order Processing & POS Management

  • Order Capture: Accurately log customer meal choices on the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring specific menu modifiers (e.g., basting flavors, chip seasonings, or drink swaps) are recorded correctly.
  • Payment Handling: Responsibly process cash, credit/debit cards, and modern digital/mobile payments while maintaining zero tolerance for transactional errors.
  • System Discipline: Troubleshoot basic POS system hitches quickly to keep the front-counter pipeline running smoothly during peak lunch, dinner, and late-night weekend rushes.

2. Dynamic Upselling & Queue Control

  • Sales Driving: Actively promote active combos, limited-time specials, and drive add-on sales (e.g., upscaling meals, adding extra sauces, or suggesting desserts) to increase the store’s average basket value.
  • Flow Management: Direct and manage customer queues politely and efficiently to keep the counter area organized and reduce wait-time friction.

3. Cash Integrity & End-of-Shift Administration

  • Reconciliation: Balance your cash drawer perfectly at the end of your shift against system sales logs and submit clear, accurate end-of-shift reports to the store manager.
  • Asset Protection: Adhere strictly to the franchise’s security frameworks regarding cash drops and general loss-prevention procedures to protect store capital.

4. Customer Service & Station Hygiene

  • Query Resolution: Act as the first line of defense for customer complaints or meal queries, resolving basic issues immediately with a friendly attitude or escalating them to the supervisor.
  • Immaculate Workstation: Keep the entire front-counter zone, condiment stands, and menu boards spotless, sanitized, and organized.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: Previous cashiering, hospitality, or fast-food retail experience is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptionally strong mathematical and numerical accuracy skills to minimize till variances (“shorts and overs”).
  • Attributes: High stress tolerance to handle fast-paced weekend foot traffic, a polished, professional appearance, and excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Mindset: High integrity, absolute honesty, and an energetic, customer-centric personality
