Role Overview: The Retail Advantage
As a Dis-Chem Life Sales Consultant, you are not stuck behind a desk. You are positioned in-store to turn foot traffic into financial security. Your goal is to initiate meaningful, face-to-face conversations with shoppers and offer tailored insurance and financial solutions—such as gap cover, life insurance, or health-related financial products—that align with their immediate needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Engagement: Proactively approach walk-in customers in the store to identify their financial needs and introduce Dis-Chem Life products.
- Needs-Based Advice: Deliver face-to-face financial advice that is compliant with industry regulations.
- Target Achievement: Consistently hit sales and conversion targets by leveraging the high volume of store visitors.
- Relationship Building: Establish trust with customers by simplifying complex financial concepts and demonstrating real-world value.
- Compliance: Maintain a deep understanding of FSCA (Financial Sector Conduct Authority) regulatory requirements and keep accurate records of all client interactions.
- Brand Representation: Act as a professional and approachable ambassador for Dis-Chem Life.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric (National Senior Certificate) is required.
- Preferred Education: A Diploma or Degree in Business, Retail, FMCG, or a related field is an advantage.
- Experience: 2–4 years in an advice-giving role (Insurance/Finance) OR in a high-traffic retail environment (FMCG, Automotive, etc.).
- Regulatory Status: If previously registered on a license, you must hold Fit & Proper status.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex products simply.
- Availability: Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Transport: Must have reliable transport to your allocated Sandton store.
