Role Overview: Dual Operational Focus
Mambo’s operates high-volume stores packed with thousands of stock keeping units (SKUs)—from large storage containers to delicate home decor. As a Flexi team member, you will balance two primary functions: keeping queues moving swiftly at the point of sale (POS) and executing planograms to ensure shelves remain stocked and organized.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cashier Functions
- POS Transactions: Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently to keep checkout lines moving smoothly.
- Cash Control & Loss Mitigation: Strictly adhere to company cash-handling policies to prevent till variances (“shorts and overs”) and financial losses.
- Loss Reporting: Provide feedback to management on scanning errors, broken items, or potential inventory shrinkage.
2. Shop Assistant & Stock Functions
- Replenishment: Stock shelves neatly and maintain properly faced displays so products are always accessible to shoppers.
- Planogram Compliance: Follow visual merchandising planograms to create appealing, standardized promotional displays.
- Inventory & Stock Counts: Participate in regular store inventory counts and assist in organizing new stock deliveries, breaking down packaging, and maintaining backroom standards.
3. Floor Hygiene & Customer Service
- Customer Care: Greet and assist shoppers cheerfully, answering queries about homeware products and store layouts.
- Housekeeping: Perform general cleaning duties to ensure the retail floor, till points, and display bays remain spotless and safe.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Experience: Prior retail or FMCG work experience is preferred (customer-facing experience in store operations is a distinct advantage).
- Skills: Excellent verbal communication, basic numerical accuracy, strong time management, and the physical capability to handle stock replenishment.
- Mindset: Enthusiastic “CAN-DO” attitude, trustworthy, team-oriented, and customer-focused.
