What is the YES Programme?
The YES initiative is a business-led collaboration with the government to reduce youth unemployment. For you, it means a 12-month “quality work experience” where you earn a salary, gain a formal reference, and develop a professional CV.
Eligibility Criteria (The Checklist)
To qualify for this specific Gauteng intake, you must meet all of the following:
- Age: Between 18 and 28 years old.
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) is preferable.
- Status: You must be currently unemployed and not studying full-time between April 2026 and March 2027.
- Experience: You should not have held a permanent job for more than one year continuously.
- Prior Participation: You must not have been part of a YES programme with any other company before.
Key Terms of Employment
- Contract Duration: Fixed-term for 12 months.
- Logistics: You are responsible for your own transport and accommodation in Gauteng.
