Available Opportunities

Gold One Group Limited is recruiting a Draughtsperson (Grading C4) on a full-time, permanent basis within their Gedex division. Working remotely while supporting Conventional Engineering operations, you will prepare, update, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, underground shaft layouts, survey conversions, and surface infrastructure designs in compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).

Core Responsibilities:

  • Technical Drawing & Layout Generation: Preparing, updating, and maintaining precise engineering drawings, mine layouts, shaft system schematics, and surface infrastructure plans using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD platforms.
  • Data Integration & Conversion: Interpreting complex survey data, geological maps, and mechanical/civil engineering designs to convert raw field data into actionable, detailed operational plans.
  • Statutory & MHSA Compliance: Ensuring all draughting outputs strictly comply with South African Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) regulations, statutory mine plan standards, and internal Gold One technical specifications.
  • Interdisciplinary Engineering Collaboration: Working closely with mine planning engineers, land surveyors, rock engineers, and geologists to verify design feasibility and spatial accuracy.
  • Drawing Register Governance & Document Control: Maintaining organized electronic drawing registers, managing revision version controls, and maintaining complete audit trails for all engineering modifications.
  • Plan Updates & Operational Revisions: Executing regular digital updates to mine working plans to accurately reflect daily underground advances, decline progress, and surface facility changes.

Key Objectives

Your success as a Draughtsperson at Gold One Group will be evaluated by CAD drawing turnaround times, spatial accuracy, drawing register compliance, and alignment with statutory mine safety standards. Within your first 90 days, you will be expected to:

  1. Audit & Standardize Drawing Registers: Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing Gedex conventional engineering drawing registers to ensure all active CAD files are properly indexed and version-controlled.
  2. Execute High-Accuracy Survey Conversions: Convert incoming survey updates and geological models into updated 2D/3D mine layouts without data discrepancies.
  3. Achieve 100% MHSA Statutory Compliance: Ensure all updated underground and surface plans conform to statutory regulations and Gold One safety protocols.
  4. Streamline Remote Engineering Workflows: Establish reliable digital communication and document-sharing channels with site-based engineers, geologists, and surveyors.

What You Will Learn

Stepping into a Mid-Senior Draughtsperson role with Gold One Group Limited provides advanced technical exposure to gold mining infrastructure. In this position, you will build expertise in:

  • Underground Shaft & Decline Layout Engineering: Advanced draughting techniques for deep-level gold mining layouts, ventilation shafts, decline systems, and underground station infrastructure.
  • Advanced CAD & 3D Spatial Modelling: Industry-leading practices in integrating survey software, GIS spatial layers, and 3D CAD modeling environments.
  • Statutory Mine Planning Governance: Deep application of South African mining legislation, MHSA compliance frameworks, and statutory mine mapping standards.
  • Remote EPCM & Engineering Collaboration: Utilizing digital project management software, cloud document control systems, and collaborative cross-disciplinary workflows remotely.

What You Gain

Joining Gold One Group Limited on a permanent basis brings strong employment security, corporate stability, and competitive mid-senior engineering rewards:

  • Permanent Remote Appointment: Permanent full-time employment offering the flexibility of working remotely while contributing to major South African mining operations.
  • Competitive C4 Grading Remuneration: Market-related salary package accompanied by medical aid, retirement fund contributions, and performance-based incentives.
  • Advanced Technical Exposure: Exposure to complex conventional engineering projects, underground expansion plans, and state-of-the-art CAD/GIS tools.
