The Role: Leading Dynamos

In the PEP environment, the staff are referred to as “Dynamos.” Your job as a Supervisor is to lead this team by example, ensuring that the store remains the customer’s first choice for value. You will balance hands-on floor work with essential administrative duties and cost-control strategies.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Store Image

  • Customer Service: Drive sales by ensuring every customer receives exceptional service.
  • Store Standards: Maintain world-class store standards, including the correct presentation and promotion of stock.
  • Pricing Integrity: Ensure all products are priced correctly to reflect PEP’s famous “price image” (Value for Money).

Operations & Administration

  • Admin Compliance: Complete all in-store administrative duties accurately and on time, following strict company guidelines.
  • Cost Management: Drive a “low-cost” culture by finding efficiencies in daily store operations and reducing waste.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain high standards of health, safety, and general store cleanliness.

Stock & Cash Security

  • Loss Prevention: Minimize stock loss by fostering a healthy store culture and strictly following security measures.
  • Cash Handling: Oversee accurate cash handling procedures to ensure zero variances at the till points.

Leadership & Culture

  • Team Development: Lead and support your team of Dynamos, providing clear direction and guidance.
  • Culture Ambassadorship: Actively promote the Sikhula KunYe company culture, which focuses on mutual growth and respect.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Experience: Ideally 1–2 years of experience in a retail environment, specifically in an assistant leader or 2IC (Second-in-Charge) role.
  • Tech Skills: Must be computer literate.
  • Availability: Must be willing to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays.
