Key Responsibilities
- POS Management: Accurately handle all Point of Sale transactions and documentation to ensure no stock leaves the store unpaid.
- Cash Handling: Manage floats, petty cash, and daily takings with zero “shorts or overs.” Perform accurate cash-ups and secure drops into the vault.
- Stock Identification: Ensure every item (from small hardware to bulk materials) is correctly identified and captured on the system.
- Customer Service: Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service, directing customers to the correct departments for specialized assistance.
- Safety & Security: Maintain system password control at the till point and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) standards to ensure a safe shopping environment.
Job Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 OR a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience.
- Skills: Strong administration skills and the ability to perform basic calculations quickly and accurately.
- Language: Proficiency in English plus the dominant local language spoken in the Alexandra area.
- Availability: Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays.
- Attributes: Must be able to work under pressure, maintain a well-groomed appearance, and uphold a high level of integrity.
