Role Summary: The Back-of-House Architect
As the Admin Operations Manager for Africa’s flagship Apple Premium Reseller format, your core mandate is risk reduction and operational efficiency. While the Store Manager drives front-line visual sales, you own the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), systems reviews, stock flows, and backend administrative functions. You must successfully navigate matrix management, ensuring that store-level administrative staff align perfectly with corporate finance, logistics, and legal compliance structures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Back-of-House (BOH) & Operational Governance
- SOP Enforcement: Guarantee absolute adherence to all iStore policies, security standards, and daily administrative workflows to minimize financial and inventory risks.
- Systems & Process Optimization: Continuously review backend retail management systems, stock intake logs, and administrative processes to identify bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
- Risk Mitigation: Manage the store’s operational audits, cash room compliance, financial reconciliations, and data-protection protocols.
2. Matrix Management & Collaboration
- Manage cross-functional relationships smoothly, ensuring collaboration between store floor consultants, technicians (Apple Authorised Repairs), business-to-business (B2B) reps, and corporate stakeholders.
- Break down operational silos to expedite stock transfers, customer repairs, and business accounts processing.
3. Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and coach backend administrative, inventory, and operational teams.
- Provide continuous, constructive feedback loops to build a high-performance culture that values the consumer journey as much as operational discipline.
4. Commercial Support
- Drive store targets indirectly by creating a frictionless inventory environment where high-demand, high-value Apple hardware and ecosystem accessories are always systematically available for the FOH sales team.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Completed Matric / Grade 12 is mandatory. A tertiary qualification (e.g., Business Administration, Operations Management, or Commerce degree/diploma) is highly advantageous.
- Leadership Tenure: 5+ years of direct experience leading teams within a complex, high-turnover corporate retail environment.
- Industry Domain: Deep, foundational knowledge of retail administration, inventory systems, supply chains, and consumer compliance frameworks.
