Role Overview: Retail Shop Assistant
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure smooth in-store operations while delivering a stylish customer experience. You will be responsible for everything from high-level customer service to maintaining strict store standards and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Welcome customers, identify their needs, and recommend suitable fashion items.
- Sales & Services: Assist walk-in customers, handle telephonic inquiries with care, and help customers open new accounts by assisting with documentation.
- Stock Management: Receive, check, and unpack stock while ensuring all paperwork is accurate.
- Inventory Control: Assist the Store Manager with weekly unit counts and take active measures to minimize stock losses.
- Visual Merchandising: Arrange window displays and maintain store layouts according to Rage standards.
- Loss Prevention: Monitor customer activities closely to prevent shoplifting incidents.
- Operational Tasks: Process customer refunds, execute markdown instructions, and manage “pack up” lists or recalls.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and tidy store environment and ensure all fire exits and escape routes remain unobstructed.
Requirements
- Education: A High School Matric certificate is required.
- Experience: Proven experience in retail sales is necessary.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Technical Skills: Ability to use labeling and pricing equipment as well as Point of Sale (POS) software.
- Core Competencies: Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and exceptional customer service abilities.
- Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details & Remuneration
- Location: Siyabuswa, Mpumalanga (In-person).
- Job Type: Available in both Full-time and Part-time capacities.
- Pay: Starting from R34,33 per hour.
- Training: Active participation in training sessions is required to stay updated on Rage policies.
